Ekspan roller shutter expansion joints are recommended for movements over 800mm in order to achieve maximum safety and comfort for traffic (avoiding wash board effects and danger of skidding), noise prevention, stability of the structure and fatigue strength. These joints are able to resist major seismic events, and can endure, with service, the life span of the structure.

Exspansion Joints
Ekspan Single Seal Element Joint - Type WSF 80
Extruded steel, incorporating proven seal retention detail with anchor loops welded at angles and intervals to comply with the structure reinforcement requirements. These types of expansion joints are suitable for installation in shallow bridge decks and car parks, or as a replacement joint during bridge maintenance work.
Ekspan WSG type joints are normally supplied as continuous watertight assemblies ready for immediate installation. The assembled joint is lifted into the prepared concrete rebate, levelled and the steel anchors attached to the deck reinforcement. Suitable for motorways, primary/secondary roads, shallow bridge decks and car parks.
Ekspan Multi-Element Expansion Joint - Type WSG
Ekspan T-Mat
Ekspan T-Mats provide particular advantages for rail bridges. The elastomeric seal is designed to open and close under supporting ballast which is prevented from entering the expansion gaps. They cab be used for both longitudinal and transverse joints. T-Mats are ideally applicable to motorways, primary/secondary roads, railway bridges and pedestrian walkways.
